Who or what is "the angel of YHWH" in the Bible?

According to Islam, the angel of YHWH (or Yahweh) in the Bible is not a manifestation or an appearance of God Himself, nor a pre-incarnate form or a foreshadowing of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Rather, the angel of YHWH is one of the many angels that God created and assigned to perform various tasks and missions. Muslims believe that God is one and unique, and that He has no partners, associates, or equals. Muslims also believe that Jesus Christ is a prophet and a messenger of God, but not His son or His incarnation.

Muslims believe that the angel of YHWH in the Bible is most likely the same as the angel Jibril (or Gabriel) in the Quran, who is the chief of the angels and the bearer of revelation. Jibril is the angel who delivered the messages of God to various prophets and messengers throughout history, such as Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad. Jibril is also the angel who accompanied Muhammad on his night journey and ascension to heaven, where he met other prophets and saw the wonders of paradise and hell.

Muslims respect and honor Jibril as a noble and faithful servant of God, but they do not worship him or attribute any divinity to him. Muslims worship God alone and follow the teachings of His final messenger, Muhammad. This is the essence of Islam and its monotheistic creed.
